The idea of the three founding members, all marine biologists, is to share their professional journey with the community, helping to build greater awareness of the dynamics that regulate life in the oceans, their extraordinary beauty and their fragility.
Environmental monitoring, biodiversity conservation, research and science communication are the pillars that strengthen our knowledge in this surprising journey of discovery, where knowing the sea means knowing ourselves, and preserving it means safeguarding the future of us all.
Since completing their PhDs in marine biology in the fields of biodiversity conservation and evolutionary biology, the three members have developed practical and theoretical expertise across several areas: research, marine ecology, plankton studies, the dynamics of benthic animal communities, and the monitoring of marine ecosystems formed by Posidonia oceanica.
Each member is certified as a Scientific Diver (Operatore Scientifico Subacqueo, OSS) and is familiar with the standard survey and monitoring methods and instruments required by current national and European regulations in underwater and surface marine environments. This expertise gives confidence to the partners and clients who continue to rely on Pelagosphera.
Our growth in research and science communication allows us to build shared pathways with numerous public and private organisations.
Since its foundation, Pelagosphera has collaborated with the Department of Life Sciences and Systems Biology (DBIOS) of the University of Turin, with which it has established a productive collaboration formalised through a framework agreement in the fields of environmental monitoring, research and the training of undergraduate and master’s students. Pelagosphera carries out its activities within the department’s marine biology laboratory.
Pelagosphera works with many professionals in the sector, including scientific divers, biologists, geologists, entomologists and naturalists, and relies on a young, dynamic, passionate and highly competent team of experts.
