Born in Turin in 1981, since 2010 he is a founding member of Pelagosphera.
Marine biologist, scientific diver and science communicator, his work focuses on mesozooplankton, particularly its use as a marine environmental bioindicator in relation to the offshore Oil&Gas and Green Energy . He specialises in the taxonomy and ecology of Mediterranean and oceanic copepod fauna, a field in which he obtained his PhD. He teaches marine biology at theUniversity of Turin, collaborates with the Anton Dohrn Zoological Station of Naples (SZN). Registered with the Italian National Register of Biologists, he is a member of the Plankton Committee of the Italian Society of Marine Biology (SIBM), the European WGEUROBUS group established to monitor the invasive calanoid copepod Pseudodiaptomus marinus, and MOTAX – Marine Organisms Taxonomy.
