Born in Portoferraio, Elba Island, in 1971. Naturalist, marine biologist, scientific diver, writer and science communicator. He teaches marine biology atUniversity of Turinand collaborates with CNR ISMAR – Institute of Marine Sciences - Venice branch. Since 2010, he is founding member and President of Pelagosphera. His work focuses primarily on seagrass ecosystems, mesozooplankton and benthic communities. Alongside his passion for the sea, he is actively engaged with issues relating to the marine impacts of the climate crisis through public talks, meetings and seminars.
He is the author of Plasticene, l’Epoca che riscrive la nostra storia sulla Terra, published by Il Saggiatore and winner of the 2022 Majella National Nature Writing Award. Together with Paola Cereda, he also published for Feltrinelli Kids Salva la Terra! Il tardigrado, piccolo supereroe per il pianeta.
